In the grand theatre of digital warfare, where the undead have long reigned supreme, a curious shift in the winds of battle has occurred. It seems that the siren call of the Arcade Mode has lured this humble scribe away from the relentless pursuit of Zombies to engage in a moreโ€ฆ sociable form of combat.

And what a revelation it has been! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I stand before you (metaphorically speaking, of course) as a testament to the sheer brilliance that is the resurrected Arcade Mode in Modern Warfare III. It’s as if the developers reached into the very soul of fun and pulled out a gem.

As a gamer ofโ€ฆ let’s say, modest abilities, the leaderboard was a place I’d only visit as a tourist, never expecting to leave my mark. But lo and behold, with a K/D ratio soaring over the 1.00 mark, I was not just participating; I was dominating. It was like finding out you’re royalty in a country where the currency is pure, unadulterated joy.

The rounds were nail-bitingly close, a testament to the balance and fairness of the mode. Even when the fates conspired against us with pings higher than my hopes for a decent K/D, we emerged victorious, shredding through the opposition like a hot knife through butter.

And here’s the kicker โ€“ it felt as though the shackles of SBMM (Skill-Based Matchmaking, for the uninitiated) were nowhere to be found. It was liberating, like dancing through the fields of competition without a care in the world.

So here’s my plea, nay, my heartfelt sonnet to the powers that be at the Call of Duty headquarters: Keep it this way. Keep the Arcade Mode untainted by the cold, calculating algorithms of SBMM. We love it, we cherish it, and by all that is holy in the realm of gaming, keep it in the mix.

Until next time, this has been Scotty McG, signing off with a twinkle in my eye and an unexpectedly impressive K/D ratio in my pocket. Stay charming, stay witty, and may your pings be ever low.
